The Bernard Martin Art Gallery

About Bernard Martin
Bernard Martin, American, b. in Niagara Falls, New York, has studied art at both Creighton University and the Joslyn Art Museum in Omaha, Nebraska. Workshops and travel have enhanced his experiences with pastelists, William Schultz and Handell--as well as embracing the worlds of Praha, Italy, Provence and Paris.

Weekly scheduled life drawing sessions with fellow artists over the past 30 years have given Bernard a mastery of the human figure in life. His affiliation with dancers and ballet theaters has provided him with the color, movement and vitality necessary for his capture of the dancer. "Capturing the human figure in motion or in life, as in the dance, allows me to portray this action with color, rhythm and fluidity of form. Note the hands, feet, gestures--the neck of the dancers, in motion or at rest. See how only one stroke of color or line defines the character of the person, or the nature of movement".

Martin is recognized for awards won in the most prestigious art festivals and exhibitions. View more info on Martin in Galleries at our website: www.swedesuccess.com.
